Texas State University and Sul Ross State University have launched a co-enrollment partnership offering students a seamless path to earning a bachelor’s degree from TXST.

TXST and Sul Ross leaders announced the initiative during the Texas State University System Board of Regents’ quarterly meeting February 12 in Beaumont.

The new program will be offered on the Sul Ross Campus beginning fall 2026. TXST and Sul Ross are both members of the Texas State University System.

This partnership highlights added value for students who are place-bound in West Texas but would benefit from a degree offered by TXST that is adjacent to a degree offered by Sul Ross.

Initial TXST degrees available via co-enrollment include:

  • Public Health (B.S.)
  • Social Work (B.S.W.)
  • Finance (B.B.A.)
  • Information Systems – Business Analytics (B.B.A.)
  • Health Sciences (B.S.)
  • Geography and Environmental Studies (B.S.)
  • Artificial Intelligence (B.A.A.S.)
  • Data Analytics (B.A.A.S.)
  • Information Technology (B.A.A.S.)

An additional transfer pathway is established for Medical Laboratory Science (B.S.M.L.S.), with the ability to add more programs by mutual written agreement. All degrees, with the exception of social work, would be completed via online delivery from TXST.

Participating students can be concurrently enrolled at both institutions in the same term, taking courses from Sul Ross and TXST on streamlined, pre-approved degree pathways. The partnership enables students living in West Texas to complete a TXST bachelor’s degree without having to relocate to San Marcos or Round Rock. Co-enrolled students also have access to simplified transfer pathways to ensure efficient degree completion and minimize excess credit hours.
