McCoy College of Business unveils rebranded Center for Student Entrepreneurship

Texas State University’s Center for Student Entrepreneurship supports student entrepreneurs with hands-on workshops, mentorship, and resources to turn ideas into ventures.

The McCoy College of Business at Texas State University has changed the name of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to the Center for Student Entrepreneurship (CSE).

The new name better reflects the center’s role in serving entrepreneurs at all stages in building a venture, from idea to launch. The CSE’s role is to serve students of all degree levels, including undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. candidates, as well as faculty, staff, alumni, and the TXST community.

“The name change reflects who we are and, more importantly, who we serve,” said Quinn Valentine, director of the CSE. “Entrepreneurship is not only about creating the next big technology company. We wholeheartedly support flower shops, tech businesses, creative ventures, service businesses and drone startups.

“Our focus is on helping students test their assumptions, put their ideas into action, and learn what it really takes to build a business,” she said. “The Center for Student Entrepreneurship makes it clear that if you’re a student with an idea and the willingness to work on it, there is a place for you here.”

The transition to the CSE will include updated logos, printed materials and an updated website. The existing programs and services provided by the CSE will continue to run to serve the TXST community.

Community members, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the center and its transition by visiting the CSE website at entrepreneurship.mccoy.txst.edu.
