Texas State University will host its first AI in Teaching and Learning Symposium March 26-27, bringing together educators and education professionals for two days of collaborative exploration on the university’s San Marcos Campus.
The event will run 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days in the LBJ Student Center.
“This faculty-led symposium creates opportunities for educators to share what's actually working in today's classrooms,” said Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Information Technology Matt Hall. “As AI continues to reshape education, it’s crucial to create spaces for impactful dialogue and knowledge exchange among practitioners.”
The symposium, jointly presented by the Division of Information Technology and the Texas State Center for Analytics and Data Science (TXST CADS), is designed to showcase practical applications and considerations for artificial intelligence in higher education settings. Sessions are focused on real-world implementations of AI tools and strategies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes across disciplines.
“The symposium will feature panels on AI integration in healthcare, digital media and business, as well as hands-on workshops exploring AI tools, learning outcomes and academic integrity,” said Tahir Ekin, Ph.D., director of CADS. “By bringing together educators, researchers and industry professionals, we hope to foster meaningful discussions that will shape the future of AI in higher education.”
