The Hollywood Reporter has named Texas State University among the top 25 drama schools in the world for 2025.
TXST ranked No. 22 on the list, up three spaces from 2024. Juilliard, based in New York City, was ranked No. 1. The full list may be found at Hollywoodreporter.com.
The Hollywood Reporter’s list was based on input from industry members and educators to determine the best schools for an acting degree while weighing factors including overall training, cost, alumni success and industry connections.
TXST was cited for the musical theatre program—which is tuition-free and accepts only 14 new students annually—as well as a four-year bachelor of fine arts in acting for stage and screen degree. Successful TXST acting alumni include Ashlyn Maddox, from Netflix’s The Four Seasons; Shelby Acosta, from Real Women Have Curves on Broadway; Bella Coppola, from Smash on Broadway; and Roberta Colindrez, from Netflix’s Eric.
