The partnership will save students thousands of dollars on specific bachelor’s degrees. Participants will be able to fully complete select four-year TXST degrees on the Dallas College campus

Texas State University and Dallas College have announced Texas State Local @ Dallas College, a co-enrollment partnership offering a seamless path to both an associate and bachelor’s degree for students beginning at Dallas College and completing their degree at Texas State.

The new program will be offered on the Dallas College Richland Campus.

Texas State Local participants will benefit from targeted, personalized support and early efforts to foster a sense of belonging across institutions, helping them save money and complete their bachelor’s degrees in a timely manner. Eligible students may apply for the program beginning in fall 2025.

“As a first-generation student who got his start at a community college, I know firsthand the power of partnerships like this to change lives. At Texas State, we believe that a degree should be within reach for every qualified and motivated student, no matter where they start their journey. That’s why we’re so excited about this partnership with Dallas College,” said TXST President Kelly Damphousse.

“Texas State Local @ Dallas College isn’t just about making college more affordable—it’s about opening doors to incredible opportunities. Students will have access to nationally recognized business programs from McCoy College of Business, right in their own community, with all the support and resources that make TXST special. We’re removing barriers, building pathways, and making sure that more students can achieve their dreams of earning a high-quality, in-demand degree. This is what access to education should look like, and we’re proud to make it happen together.”

Texas State Local @ Dallas College will save students thousands of dollars on specific bachelor’s degrees. Participants will be able to fully complete select four-year TXST degrees on the Dallas College campus:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Major in Management
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Major in Finance
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Major in Marketing
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Major in Information Systems (concentration in Business Analytics and/or AI)

Those four degrees are offered by the McCoy College of Business at TXST. Poets & Quants for Undergrads, one of the nation’s most reputable sources for information on business education, has ranked McCoy College among its Best Undergraduate Business Schools of 2025. In its new 2025 ranking for undergraduate business schools, the publication has listed McCoy College at No. 75 overall, placing the business school at No. 4 among public universities in Texas, and No. 30 among all public universities in the U.S.

TXST and Dallas College have developed clear transfer guidelines to ensure every credit counts. Students who opt into the co-enrollment model, completing 63 hours of coursework at Dallas College before finishing their bachelor degrees at TXST, are expected to save up to $18,500 in tuition and fees, based on fiscal year 2025 rates.

"Unclear pathways to progression and financial concerns are two of the biggest barriers our students face,” said Dallas College Chancellor Justin H. Lonon. “This co-enrollment partnership directly addresses these challenges, providing students with a barrier-free roadmap to completion at an affordable cost. Together, we’re ensuring success is within reach!”
