Texas State University has been named a top 10 military friendly school for 2025-2026 by MilitaryFriendly.com.
TXST was awarded Gold status among Tier 1 research institutions ranked for the services they provide to veteran students and families. The university was also ranked No. 5 nationally as a Military Spouse Friendly School.

The rankings were developed from public data about the institutions and surveys submitted to more than 1,800 schools across the country. Final survey results and ratings were determined by combining an institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet minimum thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans. The benchmark is set by the score of the leading institution.
