Hillviews magazine has published its fall issue with a fresh batch of stories that highlight the transformative experience and powerful reach of a Texas State University education.

In this fall’s digital-only issue, we dive into the student experience with stories about a new music education program for aspiring mariachi teachers and the wide range of student organizations that offer up fun, friendships and fulfillment.

The issue also features alumni who are making a splash in the world, including Saturday Night Live cast member Devon Walker (class of 2014), firefly conservation crusader Ben Pfeiffer (class of 2005) and International Space Station logistics guru Kristi Duplichen (class of 1999).

Research and innovation take center stage in stories about TXST’s new experimental stream facility and research partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers and the impressive crop of doctoral students supported by TXST’s Run to R1 investment.

Readers can also keep up with important institutional priorities in a Q&A with Julie Lessiter, the first-ever VP of the Round Rock Campus, and an update on the NEXT IS NOW capital campaign.

Also in this issue, we check out The Wittliff Collections’ insightful exhibit about Jerry Jeff Walker and the 50th anniversary of the making of his influential ¡Viva Terlingua! album; we get to know this year’s Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumni Rising Stars honorees; and, as always, Class Notes chronicles the professional achievements of Bobcat alum of all ages.
