Texas State University moves closer to NEXT IS NOW capital campaign goal
Texas State University | August 26, 2022
Texas State University has surpassed $200 million towards its $250 million fundraising goal for NEXT IS NOW, the largest fundraising campaign in university history.
Publicly launched on October 8, 2021, the campaign advances initiatives focused on student success and advancing from a Carnegie R2 designated university to an R1.
The university has raised more than $30 million dollars to date in FY2022 which ends Aug. 31, making it the second largest fundraising year since the campaign’s silent phase began in 2014.
“This success speaks to the generosity of our alumni and friends who have bought into our shared vision for the future of Texas State,” said TXST President Kelly Damphousse. “We appreciate their investment in their university and our students. Our donors have seen the excellence in our faculty and students, and they recognize how Texas State has steadily been increasing its impact on Texas and beyond.”
Aligned with the university’s strategic plan, top NEXT IS NOW campaign priorities include growing undergraduate student scholarships and graduate student fellowships; enhancing student programming and support; constructing a new music building with space for 600 students and more than 80 faculty to accommodate the growing nationally recognized School of Music; renovating The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment to enhance capabilities to study the impact of climate change and share the science of conservation with the world; increasing endowed faculty positions to support faculty who are experts in their fields and passionate educators; providing additional equipment for Health Professions programs on the Round Rock Campus; and expanding practice and training facilities for student-athletes.
