Institutional Inclusive Excellence – Student Initiatives at Texas State University will virtually host the 37th annual Commemoration Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr., on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, this year's event will be held remotely. The virtual program will begin at 4 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is now open at www.sdi.txstate.edu/ProgramsResources/CulturalCelebrations/MLK.html.

This year’s theme, Dream Together, challenges people to collaborate in reflecting on King's ideas and commemorating his legacy, while continuing the pursuit of a more just and equitable society for all.

Institutional Inclusive Excellence – Student Initiatives and the MLK Jr. Celebration Committee, in partnership with stakeholders across campus, sponsor the annual MLK Celebration in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The MLK commemorative celebration provides an opportunity for recognizing the contributions of King to the advancement of civil rights in the United States. Also known as the MLK Day of Service, Americans are encouraged to participate in service to their communities and neighborhoods on this federal holiday.
