This summer's issue of Hillviews is something a little different. Instead of a printed magazine, Texas State University produced a special, visual, and interactive experience with more videos, photos, and links to extra content.

This online summer issue is available at https://hillviews.txstate.edu/issues/2021/summer-issue.html

This immersive edition of Hillviews includes a video message from President Denise Trauth, the pomp and circumstance of the spring commencement ceremonies and the traditional graduate student jump into the San Marcos River; how the Radiation Therapy program is using virtual reality to treat cancer; and an excerpt of an original musical song cycle that tells the story of the life and death of Father Mychel Judge, a victim of the 9/11 terrorist attack.

This edition also features the new Alkek One in the Albert B. Alkek Library. Opened in summer 2020, it is a new use for an existing space and features many innovative tools for student projects and learning.

The story “On their toes” celebrates the BFA Dance program. For more than 50 years, Texas State has offered a dance program to undergraduate students, and in 2020, it was ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 2 in the nation.

Meet Coach TJ Johnson, the head coach for Bobcat basketball; and get look at the new Live Oak Hall, the new Film and Television building that is being built on the San Marcos Campus

The fall/winter issue of Hillviews will return as a print magazine.
