School of Music plays host to 11th Texas State International Piano Festival

The Texas State University School of Music will host the 11th Texas State International Piano Festival June 5-13.

The festival will be held in a virtual format with select events held live in the Performing Arts Center on the San Marcos Campus.

Concerts and recitals are open to the public. Admission to the guest artist recitals of Anton Nel and Andrey Ponochevny are $10 for limited seating in the Performing Arts Center and $5 for streaming, with the duo of Marina Lomazov and Joseph Rackers available via streaming for $5. All Rising Star Series recitals will be streamed free, and residents of San Marcos are eligible for free streaming tickets to all events. Texas State alumnus Martin Kesuma will be featured as one of the Rising Star Series recitals.

This year's festival will feature 41 young pianists who were selected through auditions to participate in a week of lessons, master classes, recitals, seminars and recreational activities. The festival is designed to foster students' artistic development and create an international network of musicians from varied backgrounds.
