Texas State medical biology professor appointed to prestigious, international network of scientific experts

TXST’s Rodney Rohde named to IFBLS Scientific Network of Experts, contributing to global research and innovation in biomedical laboratory science.

Rodney Rohde, Ph.D., program chair of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program at Texas State University, has been appointed to the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science (IFBLS) Scientific Network of Experts.

Rohde was selected in recognition of his expertise in clinical microbiology, public health, and molecular biology. His appointment reflects both his professional leadership and his ongoing contributions to advancing laboratory science and education.

The IFBLS Scientific Network of Experts brings together leading professionals from around the world to support the federation’s mission through collaboration, research, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. As a member of the network, Rohde will contribute his expertise to a range of IFBLS activities, helping inform global efforts in biomedical laboratory science.

Rohde’s four-year term began on Jan. 1, 2026. His participation is expected to strengthen the federation’s work and further elevate TXST’s presence in the international scientific community.

Through this appointment, Texas State continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in research, innovation, and global engagement in the health sciences.
