U.S. News & World Report has ranked Texas State University’s McCoy College of Business and its Flex Master of Business Administration (MBA) program among the nation’s best in numerous categories for 2026.
McCoy College’s Flex MBA program ranked #98 (tie) nationally in the part-time MBA category, up seven spots from last year’s ranking. The program has risen 33 spots since 2023.
“Being ranked among the nation’s top 100 MBA programs by U.S. News & World Report—rising 33 spots in three years—is a milestone McCoy College’s students, faculty and staff have earned,” said Sanjay Ramchander, Ph.D., dean of the McCoy College of Business. “Poets & Quants recently placed us among the best undergraduate business programs in the country, and CEO Magazine ranked our Online MBA among the top 50 in the nation in its very first year. Three independent methodologies, three different lenses—and a consistent answer: McCoy College is ascending. We are grateful, we are energized, and we are just getting started.”
In addition to the Top 100 overall national ranking, U.S. News & World Report placed McCoy College’s Flex MBA program among the best part-time MBA programs when categorized:
- #61 among all U.S. public universities
- #9 in Texas
- #6 among Texas public universities
Furthermore, the McCoy College Flex MBA ranked #6 in the nation for students’ average work experience (139 months), among those universities that reported.
McCoy College offers several MBA program options. The Flex MBA is customizable, allowing students to attend either full-time or part-time, with the ability to change as needs evolve. The program also offers optional concentrations. The Cohort MBA is a full-time program in which students can complete their degree in just 16 months. The college also offers a highly-ranked Online MBA with concentrations, as well as a new dual-degree program combining the MBA and the master of health administration, or MHA-MBA. The college launched an online doctor of business administration (Online DBA) in 2025.
McCoy College is also home to a Master of Accountancy (MAcy) program and Master of Science programs in Accounting and Information Technology (MSAIT), Data Analytics and Information Systems (MSDAIS), Marketing Research and Analysis (MSMRA), and Quantitative Finance and Economics (MSQFE).
