McCoy College ranked among nation’s best again by Poets & Quants for Undergrads 2026

Poets & Quants for Undergrads, one of the nation’s most reputable sources for information on business education, has ranked Texas State University’s McCoy College of Business among its Best Undergraduate Business Schools of 2026.

In its new 2026 ranking for undergraduate business schools, the publication has listed McCoy College at No. 89 overall, placing the business school at No. 3 among public universities in Texas and No. 33 among all public universities in the U.S. 

This is the second consecutive year that Poets & Quants for Undergrads has ranked McCoy College.

“This recognition belongs to our faculty, staff, and students who show up every day committed to excellence,” said McCoy College’s dean, Sanjay Ramchander. 

McCoy College offers undergraduate programs in accounting, business analytics, computer information systems, economics, finance, management and marketing. Programs are available at both TXST’s San Marcos and Round Rock campuses. McCoy College is also home to numerous graduate programs, with in-person master’s degree programs, online master of business administration (MBA) options and an online doctor of business administration (DBA) degree.

“What resonates about the Poets & Quants methodology is that career outcomes matter as much as classroom experience,” said Ramchander. 

“That mirrors exactly how we think about our responsibility to students — whether they're in San Marcos, Round Rock, or completing a degree online. We're proud of this milestone, and it sharpens our focus on what comes next.”

Poets & Quants for Undergrads has been ranking undergraduate business schools since 2016. Its methodology includes a balance of three categories: admissions standards, career outcomes, and academic experience.

The publication gathers information about experiences and outcomes via alumni surveys. According to the ranking website, the goal is to “develop a list that gives prospective students and parents the most information on which to make their school decisions.”
