Texas State NSAC team wins first at District 10 advertising competition
Texas State University won first place in the 2022 National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) hosted by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 10 Competition.
In addition to first place, the team also received the “Best Media Plan” award. Texas State competed against universities from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
Students were tasked to develop an integrated marketing campaign for a nationally recognized client. The 2022 national client was Meta Quest. The student team conducted extensive research, created a unique creative campaign and developed an innovative media plan.
This year’s Texas State team consisted of advertising, public relations and marketing students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Department of Marketing. The students were supported by the faculty and staff in the College of Fine Arts and Communication and the McCoy College of Business.
"There was not a weak link on this team," said Mike Devlin, associate professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and NSAC team advisor. "If you are looking for a media planner, strategist or creative, the students on this team are ready for the next challenge. I’m proud of how bold, strategic, creative and intelligent this team is."
The team now advances to semi-final competition. The eight semi-final winners will then compete at the finals June 2-5 in Nashville.
