The College of Health Professions Student Leadership Council at Texas State University held a food drive on the Round Rock Campus in March that raised more than 1,000 pounds of food for the Round Rock Serving Center.
Collected food included canned goods, peanut butter, rice and beans. Students also collected $865 during the drive, said Andi McMillin, nursing major and vice-chair of the College of Health Professions Student Leadership Council. The Round Rock Serving Center was selected as the recipient in an effort to keep the benefits local and show gratitude to the surrounding community for being the home of the Texas State Round Rock Campus, McMillin said.
The food drive involved students from all College of Health Professions programs, including respiratory care, radiation therapy, physical therapy, communication disorders, nursing, clinical laboratory science, health sciences, health information management and health care administration.
