University Advancement names Steven Jass alumni relations coordinator

Texas State University Vice President for University Advancement Brooks Hull has named Steven Jass the new coordinator for alumni relations.
Jass comes to Texas State from the Marbridge Foundation, where he had served as leisure and recreation coordinator since 2018. Jass will start at Texas State May 8, 2023.
“Steven has a heart for creating thoughtful engagement opportunities and I look forward to seeing him bring that experience to our Bobcat community,” Hull said. “We’re also excited to have him back home not only as a Texas State alumnus but also on the alumni engagement team where he worked as a student.”
As coordinator for alumni relations, Jass will lead efforts to establish and cultivate life-long relationships with more than 38,000 Texas State students and connect them to more than 224,000 alumni through programming, events and outreach.
At the Marbridge Foundation, Jass was responsible for planning, overseeing and directing the operations, services, staff and activities for people with intellectual disabilities. He assisted with Special Olympics Texas, taught a variety of training and education classes to people with intellectual disabilities through an ability central training program and planned community outings and other events.
From 2014-2017, Jass served as a student aid with the Texas State Alumni Association, assisting with such events at the Distinguished Alumni Gala, Step Up for State, New Student Orientation and Trade Up.
“My whole family graduated from Texas State, so I bleed maroon and gold,” Jass said. “I am really excited to help connect and build the Bobcat community and get back to my roots in the Alumni Association!”
Jass earned his Bachelor of Science in recreation administration from Texas State.
