Todd Oxford, associate professor of saxophone in the School of Music, will present “Synaesthesia Duo” at the Texas State University Round Rock Campus on Tuesday, March 10.
The Arts and Lecture Series event will be at 6:30 p.m. in Avery Building, Room 252. It is free and open to the public.
Oxford, accompanied by Richard Hall, senior lecturer in the School of Music, comprise the ensemble Synaesthesia Duo, which champions contemporary music for saxophone, live electronics and video imagery. All harmonic and melodic material is strictly based on the timbral properties of the saxophone. Electronic delay techniques include self-performed counterpoint, multi-tape delay and ping-pong echo effects.
