Kathryn Olson, Ph.D., professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will discuss “How Televised Presidential Debates Might Matter in a Democracy” 3:30-4:30 p.m. Sept. 16 as part of Texas State University’s distinguished lecture program.
The event will be held in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
Olson is a nationally recognized scholar on presidential debates and political communication. She also is the former director for the rhetorical leadership program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The program is sponsored by the TXST Faculty Senate with support from the Graduate College, College of Fine Arts and Communication, College of Liberal Arts, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and the Departments of Communication Studies, Political Science, History, Philosophy and Sociology.
