Texas State University Campuses Banned Tobacco and Vaping in 2011

Since 2011, Texas State University has prohibited the use of all types of tobacco products, including vaping and electronic cigarettes, on the San Marcos and Round Rock Campuses.

Texas State encourages the university community to be aware of the serious health risks related to the use of all tobacco products and provides free services to help with smoking cessation. Faculty, staff and students on both Texas State campuses who want to quit smoking can contact the Texas State Student Health Center for assistance by calling 512-245-2161, or visit the website. Faculty and staff may also contact the Work Life coordinator in Texas State Human Resources at 512-245-2557, or Bobcat Balance for information on employee smoking cessation programs.
