Texas State University’s Translational Health Research Center (THRC) announces the 2024-2025 THRC Faculty Fellows for Health and Economic Resilience Research cohort. Composed of 14 Texas State University (TXST) researchers from nine different academic departments, the cohort will work with THRC on projects focused on community health and resilience.
THRC’s largest number of fellows to date will look to both expand on existing research as well as conduct new projects that provide timely and practical solutions to health and resilience issues important to Central Texans and beyond. Each will work individually and collaboratively with other fellows from different disciplines to contribute to five key areas based on THRC’s core pillars – emergency preparedness, environmental health and biochar, digital healthcare transformation, mental health and suicide, and STEM healthcare workforce.
The multidisciplinary approach will also include opportunities for collaborations with other professionals and community groups – with the goal of engaging in discussions, seeking feedback, and exploring ways to create data-driven results that can solve existing challenges faced by groups such as nurses and clinicians, farmers and agriculturalists, and mental health providers, as well as the community at large.
