Lori Assaf, a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University, received a Fulbright Specialist Program grant to support student and faculty learning at the Haiphong University of Management and Technology in Vietnam.

The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. academics and professionals to host institutions abroad for two to six weeks to share expertise and establish partnerships benefiting institutions and communities both in the United States and overseas.

During her three-week stay in spring 2023, Assaf will conduct a university-wide evaluation of the faculty's needs and potential curriculum and instruction improvements. She’ll present the findings to university administration and faculty and design a continuous improvement plan for the university.

"I am thrilled and very excited to be selected as a Fulbright Specialist for Haiphong University of Management and Technology in Vietnam," Assaf said. "I feel so honored to be selected and to work closely with the faculty and administrators at Haiphong University."

Assaf previously received a Fulbright Specialist Program grant in 2019 to Indonesia’s Universitas Tanjungpura.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The program operates in more than 160 countries worldwide. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected for their academic and professional achievement.
