Texas State stages Tom Stoppard's absurdist classic, 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead'

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University will stage Tom Stoppard's "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" Oct. 1-6 in the Performing Arts Center. 

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1-5, with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 6.

Directed by Allison Price, the absurdist classic follows Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, hapless minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet, as they question reality and ponder if their choices affect their fate as they stumble toward an end they cannot escape.

Price is a directing graduate candidate, specializing in new work development, opera, and performance elevating the female voice. She has been awarded the Kennedy Center SDC Directing Fellowship, the WildWind New Play Development Residency and the Stage Directors and Choreographer's National Directing Award.
