Texas State University faculty members from various departments will participate in the 5th annual CoSearch conference March 2 at the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Park, 3055 Hunter Rd.

Doors open and registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

CoSearch is a two-day intensive retreat where multi-disciplinary teams of researchers and artists collaborate to develop research plans that will be supported by Texas State's Center for Communication, Collaboration and Creativity in the College of Fine Arts and Communication and carried out over the upcoming academic year. The goal is to break down academic silos and bridge research and creative activity to produce cutting-edge and possible grant-funded projects that unite researchers and artists from the university.

The 2019 CoSearch event is designed to bring innovative ideas together in a collaborative format. The focus of this year’s event is placed on materials, devices and/or systems in order to enhance intelligence and security. This includes research ideas for computing, memory, artificial intelligence/machine learning and connectivity to enhance capabilities. Research projects will have the opportunity to be implemented at STAR Park. STAR Park is Texas State's 58-acre research park dedicated to collaboration with industry, government laboratories and nonprofit research institutions to accelerate innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship in the Texas Innovation Corridor.

“One of my favorite parts of CoSearch is having the opportunity to work with professors from across campus,” said CoSearch organizer Michael Maresca. “You get so many perspectives on how the world works.”
