Texas State Basketball Packs Strahan Arena

The Texas State men’s basketball team sets a new attendance record during their game against UT Arlington on Saturday, February 2nd, making it their most attended game to date. Texas State fans filled up the seats at Strahan Arena with a record crowd of 6,581 in attendance.

Unfortunately, Texas State fell short of a win against UT Arlington in double overtime with a final score of 84-77. Bobcat’s tough defense held key players Bryan Warren and Edric Dennis from UT Arlington back in the first half allowing them only four points combined. With 36 seconds remaining, Bobcat Nottingham Tre’Larenz hit a jump shot to take the lead, but UT Arlington’s Brian Warren answered back with a jumper to take the game into overtime.

The Bobcats are one win away from first place in the Sun Belt Conference standing at 6-3 in the conference and 17-5 overall. The Bobcats return to Strahan Arena on Thursday, February 7, to take on Appalachian State for Military Appreciation Night.
