Megan Shea, CEO of Soulfull Project, to speak at Texas State

SAN MARCOS – Megan Shea, CEO of the Soulfull Project, will speak at Texas State University on Thursday, April 5.

The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. in McCoy Hall, room 223. Prior to the speech, Shea will attend a gathering highlighting Texas State research.

The Soulfull Project, underwritten by the Campbell Soup Co., seeks to combat food insecurity. For every serving of Campbell's hot cereal sold, the company donates one serving to a food bank local to that purchase.

Speakers from Texas State will include Ray Fisk, Steve Rayburn, Leslie Biediger-Friedman, Sidney Anderson, Linda Nasr and Hannah Thornton. The presentation will be hosted by David Angelow, a lecturer in the Department of Computer Information Systems and Quantative Methods.

Texas State will also host a related "hackathon" April 6-7, during which teams of Texas State students will compete to design, develop and write business plans for a software application designed to alleviate food insecurity in the community.

Shea’s Soulfull Project presentation is free and open to the public.
