Author Philipp Meyer to hold readings at Texas State, KAP Center

Award-winning author Philipp Meyer will hold readings and book signings at Texas State University’s Wittliff Collections on Thursday, October 12, and the Katherine Ann Porter (KAP) Literary Center on Friday, October 13.

The Wittliff signing will be at 3:30 p.m. on the seventh floor of the Alkek Library. The KAP reading will be at 7:30 p.m. in Kyle.

Meyer is the author of the novels American Rust, winner of the 2009 Los Angeles Times Book Prize and a New York Times Notable Book, and The Son, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. In 2010, he was named one of The New Yorker’s “20 under 40” fiction writers to watch. He is a graduate of Cornell University and has a Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a James Michener Fellow.

A native of Baltimore, Meyer now lives in Texas.

The event is sponsored by the Burdine Johnson Foundation, the Wittliff Collections, the Lindsey Reading Series and the Department of English at Texas State.
