In Brief: Tim O’Brien to hold reading, Q&A at Wittliff Collections

National Book Award-winning author Tim O’Brien will hold a reading, question and answer session and book signing at Texas State University’s Wittliff Collections on Tuesday, September 20.

The event will be at 3:30 p.m. on the seventh floor of the Alkek Library.

O’Brien is the author of many books, including the novels The Things They Carried and Going After Cacciato, which won the 1978 National Book Award. His memoir, If I Die in a Combat Zone, was selected as Texas State’s Common Experience reading book for 2005-2006.  In 2012, O'Brien received both the Texas Writer Award and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation's Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award. O'Brien currently holds the title of professor of creative writing at Texas State.
