Texas State University will host a Summer Camp Fair 3-6 p.m. April 1 under the Undergraduate Academic Center arch on campus.
Summer camps offered by Texas State, the City of San Marcos, San Marcos CISD and other local organizations will be showcased during the event, which is free and open to the public.
The fair will educate local families and alumni about summer programs offered to keep children of all ages engaged and active this summer. According to event organizers, programs such as these assist in bridging the opportunity and achievement gaps found in youth within the community.
The interactive event will also feature door prizes, refreshments, entertainment, demonstrations and an appearance by Texas State mascot Boko and the Texas State Spirit Team.
Camp representatives will be available to answer questions and provide more information. Attendees will learn about the variety of camps focusing on fine arts, athletics, academics and more.
Parking will be available at the LBJ Student Center Parking Garage, off Comanche Street. Parking will be validated for off-campus guests. To see a full list of the summer camps offered, visit www.txstate.edu/community or contact Community Relations at (512) 245-9645.
