Texas State stages new version of classic farce ‘A Flea in Her Ear’

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University presents a new version of Georges Feydeau’s 1907 play A Flea in Her Ear by David Ives, April 5-10 in the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. April 5-9, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on April 10. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students Tuesday-Thursday. Tickets are $18 for adults and $8 for students Friday-Sunday. Tickets may be purchased at txstatepresents.com.

Directed by Michael Costello, A Flea in Her Ear is a farcical French play set at the Hotel Coq d’Or in Paris at the turn of the 20th century. The plot concerns the jealousy and revenge scheme of Raymonde Chadebise, who suspects her husband Victor Emmanuel of having an affair.

Ives is an American playwright, screenwriter and novelist known for writing comic one-act plays.
