In Brief: TEDx opens speaker applications for Texas State program

Speaker applications for TEDxTexasStateUniversity are currently being accepted through July 31.
Sponsored by the Department of Communication Studies at Texas State, the TEDx event will be held November 5 on campus. The application process is open to faculty, staff, students, alumni and San Marcos community members who would like to speak at the event. Applications may be submitted online at tedxtexasstateuniversity.submittable.com.
The theme of TEDxTexasStateUniversity is “Everyday Heroes,” so the event will feature ideas and speakers whose contributions to the community make it a better place for all.
Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.
