In Brief: Texas State AMA marketing plan named Collegiate Case finalist

Texas State University’s submission into the American Marketing Association (AMA) Collegiate Case Competition has been selected as one of 10 finalists to be presented at the annual AMA International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans on March 17.
This year’s competition task was to develop a marketing plan that would increase awareness, interest and trial of the product Cool Blasts under the Ice Breakers brand. The finalists were chosen out of 123 entries from universities across the country. Other finalists include the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Finalists presenting their marketing plans at the conference will be judged by representatives from the Hershey Company, manufacturer of the Ice Breakers brand. This will be the 38th year of the International Collegiate Conference. The title of the conference is “Mint Your Future.”
The AMA is the largest marketing association in North America with over 350 student chapters.
Students who participated in Texas State’s entry include: Seth Thamm, Katelyn Angelino, Sydney Arguijo, Angela Guzman, Umreen Imam, Austin Kuithe, Christina Lehman, Nadia Lopez, Fabiola Sanchez and Amanda Zanella. Gail Zank, associate professor of marketing, advised the group.
