The world-renowned Claremont Trio will perform at Texas State University February 23 as part of the School of Music’s International Concert Series.
The evening of classical music will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.
Claremont Trio was formed in 1999 at the Juilliard School. Based in New York City near its Claremont Avenue namesake, the group became the first winner of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the only piano trio ever to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Twin sisters Emily Bruskin, violin, and Julia Bruskin, cello, with Andrea Lam, piano, have performed at the Library of Congress, the San Miguel International Festival, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. The group’s discography also includes trios by Ravel, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, Arensky, Kirchner, Zwilich, Paul Schoenfield, Mason Bates and a collaborative disc with clarinetist Jonathan Cohler, which received a Critic’s Choice award from BBC Magazine.
The performance is sponsored by the School of Music and Patrick W. Price.
Individual tickets start at $15 for adults and $8 for students, senior and military. Tickets may be purchased at the Box Office or online at txstatepresents.com.
