Texas State University’s online Master’s in Social Work program has been named one of the top 10 programs in the nation, according to GradSource.com.
Texas State ranks seventh on the list of top programs. In justifying the ranking, GradSource.com notes Texas State’s liberal arts approach to its master’s program. Students are encouraged to take courses in a variety of fields, including philosophy, political science and natural science. The program is also ranked high in affordability.
The Metropolitan State University ranks first on the list. Salisbury University, Washburn University, the University of North Dakota and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania round out the top five.
GradSource.com ranked schools that offer online Master’s in Social Work programs, offer academic and career counseling services, enroll both full-time and part-time graduate students, have at least one percent of its students in online classes and have awarded at least one graduate degree in social work between 2011 and 2014. Schools were ranked in affordability, flexibility, program prominence and student success.
