Joellen Coryell, an associate professor in the College of Education at Texas State University, has completed an overseas collaboration with faculty from the University of Padova on adult education research.
Coryell traveled to Padova, Italy, in November as part of Texas State’s memorandum of understanding with the Italian university. While there, she worked on collaborative research on faculty development for teaching international students and conducted seminars for master’s and doctoral students in adult education. She also co-conducted a three-day professional development workshop, which was the first of its kind for college of engineering faculty at an Italian university.
Coryell serves as the director of the Ph.D. program in adult, professional and community education at Texas State. Her research focuses on international and cross-cultural adult and higher education and investment in professional development for adult educators.
