Leslie Jamison to hold reading, signing at Wittliff Collections

Author Leslie Jamison will hold readings and book signings at Texas State University’s Wittliff Collections on Thursday, February 25  and at the Katherine Ann Porter Literacy Center on Friday, February 26.

The Wittliff signing will be at 3:30 p.m. on the seventh floor of the Alkek Library. The KAP Literacy Center signing will be at 7:30 p.m. in Kyle.

Jamison’s novel, The Gin Closet, was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Art Sidenbaum Award First Work of Fiction. She also wrote a collection of essays, The Empathy Exams which were recognized as a finalist for the PEN-Faulkner Award for Non-fiction. Her work has appeared in Harper’s, Oxford American, A Public Space, Virginia Quarterly Review and The Believer. She is currently a columnist for the New York Times Book Review and is finishing a doctoral dissertation at Yale about addiction narratives.

The event is sponsored by the Lindsey Reading Series, the Department of English at Texas State, the Burdine Johnson Foundation and the Wittliff Collections.
