Texas State Opera Theatre presents Gilbert & Sullivan's 'H.M.S. Pinafore'

The Texas State University Opera Theatre will present the classic Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera “H.M.S. Pinafore” October 22-25.
The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. October 22-24 and 2 p.m. October 25 at the Performing Arts Center on campus. Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for students. Senior citizens and military are $8 with a valid ID.
The performance is directed by Samuel Mungo. He has directed “Pirates of Penzance,” “Trouble in Tahiti” and “the Magic Flute” among many others. He is currently the director of opera studies and coordinator of the voice area at Texas State. The show includes the familiar songs “When I was a Lad” and “I’m Called Little Buttercup.”
Tickets are available in advance at txstatepresents.com or at the door at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Parking is available at the Edward Gary Street Garage, next to the Performing Arts Center, for $5.
