The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University will present Jose Rivera's “Marisol,” a story about a young Puerto Rican woman from the Bronx who is called to join a revolution in progress, on the Theatre Center’s Mainstage November 3-8.

Directed by Daniel Anderson, the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on November 3-7, and at 2 p.m. on November 8. Tickets for adults are $15-18, while tickets for students are $8.

“Marisol” tells a story about the war between heaven and hell on Earth, and was popular in the 1990s as an expression of political discontent. Rivera is the recipient of two playwriting Obie Awards--for “Marisol” and “References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot.” Rivera’s screenplay for “The Motorcycle Diaries” was nominated for a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar in 2005.
