Texas State hosts 7th Annual Graduate Student Research Conference

Texas State University’s Graduate College will host the 7th Annual International Research Conference for Graduate Students November 17-18 in the LBJ Student Center.

The conference is free and open to all graduate students. 

The conference will open at 5 p.m. November 17 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom with remarks from Andrea Golato, dean of the Graduate College. This will be followed by a panel of distinguished Texas State researchers and a poster session which will end at 7:30 p.m.

The conference will feature student research on subjects ranging from sports network gender bias to understanding the effects of metal coatings on free form fabrication processes. Approximately 180 graduate students from Texas State, institutions across the state and other parts of the globe will be participating in the conference.

The second day of the conference starts with panel sessions at 9 a.m. Victor B. Saenz will present the key note address at 12:30 p.m., “Ensuring the Success of Latina/o Students Across the P-20 Education Pipeline.” Saenz is an associate professor at the University of Texas in the Department of Education Administration and the Center for Mexican American Studies. An awards luncheon will be held after the keynote for the best papers presented at the conference.
