The Texas State Intensive English (TSIE) program at Texas State University has been accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA).

CEA is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education as a national accrediting agency for English language programs and institutions in the U.S.

"The accreditation of TSIE represents a milestone both for the department and the university’s internationalization goals," said Rosario Davis, TSIE associate director. "TSIE’s efforts toward formalizing existing quality practices and creating new pathways for global outreach are exciting news for the Texas State community."

CEA accreditation demonstrates a program’s commitment to providing its students with a quality experience in English language acquisition along with highly supportive student services.

Accreditation is a voluntary, intensive process of self-evaluation and review. The process ensures that the mission and educational objectives of the program are being met; that performance with respect to student achievement is being realized; that the program is organized so that its mission and educational objectives are supported by adequate human and fiscal resources; that there is evidence of financial stability; and that the CEA standards for English language programs and institutions are being met.
