Student athletes, coaches and staff from the Texas State University Department of Athletics used the Memorial Day holiday as an opportunity to help Central Texas victims of the May 24 flash floods.
Bobcat Athletics teamed up with H-E-B to distribute hot meals Monday morning from the Bobcat Stadium parking lot. With the aid of the H-E-B Mobile Kitchen, breakfast, lunch and dinner were served to those displaced by the flooding and first responders. The meal program continues through May 26.
Additionally, student athletes assembled and helped distribute more than 3,000 disaster relief cleanup kits containing trash bags, paper towels, bleach, all‑purpose spray cleaner, gloves, sunscreen and insect repellent to residents returning to their homes.
