Six graduate students from the Texas State University College of Applied Arts have been named as 2015 United States Department of Agriculture graduate fellows.
The students--Adriana Aleman, Shawntel Lopez, Erica Molina, Dagoberto Osorio, David Vela and Elise Claire Valdes--are pursuing a master’s degrees in science in agriculture, biology or sustainable food systems.
The fellowships were announced in advance of the 10th annual American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education National Conference, held March 12-14 in Frisco. A conference goal is to increase the number of individuals in the food and agricultural sciences as well as encourage the pursuit of advanced degrees and employment in the USDA or related agencies.
