In Brief: Trombone Choir to hold concert ahead of Workshop appearance

The Trombone Choir at Texas State University will hold a send-off concert 7:30 p.m. March 12 in Evans Auditorium in celebration of being invited to the 2015 American Trombone Workshop.
The ensemble, under the direction of Martin McCain, is one of four university trombone choirs invited through a preliminary audition. The American Trombone Workshop, the nation’s largest trombone conference, is hosted by the United States Army Band in Fort Myer, Va.
The Trombone Choir will perform pieces by Eric Ewazen, Derek Bourgeois, David Wilborn, James Kazik and more. The ensemble will also feature jazz trombone professor Paul Deemer on the last selection.
