Graduate Student Appreciation Week at Texas State University begins April 6 and runs through April 12.
Initiated by the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students in 1993, the event is designed to recognize the contributions, impact and value of our graduate and professional students, and to raise awareness of the role of graduate and professional students within America’s colleges and universities. Texas State University has a vibrant Graduate College offering 100 master’s and doctoral programs with close to 4,000 students enrolled.
There is a wide range of events during the week for graduate students sponsored by various departments and offices across the campus, including workshops, socials, wellness classes and recreational opportunities.
The City of San Marcos is joining the celebration as Mayor Daniel Guerrero proclaimed the week of April 6 to be Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week. Local businesses will be offering discounts and providing door prizes that will be given away at many of the campus events.
The calendar of events can be accessed at www.gradcollege.txstate.edu/Current_Students/apprwk.
