Theatre stages Shakespeare's classic 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University will present William Shakespeare’s comedy play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Nov. 18-22 at 7:30 p.m., and on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
The event will be held at the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre on campus. Tickets for Tuesday-Thursday’s plays are $15 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets for Friday-Sunday’s plays are $18 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets may be purchased at www.txstatepresents.com.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a lighthearted exploration of love, fantasy and magic. The play revolves around the Duke of Athens’ marriage to the queen of the Amazons, and an Athenian nobleman wanting his daughter to marry someone she is not in love with.
Chuck Ney directs A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The play was written in the mid-1590s and is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works.
