Texas State Jazz Trombone Ensemble, Trombone Choir host concert to mark CD release

The Texas State University Jazz Trombone Ensemble and Trombone Choir, under the direction of Martin McCain, will present a concert Wednesday, April 2, to celebrate the release of their latest CD.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium, as part of International Trombone Week. All concert attendees will receive two free downloadable tracks from the CD. The concert is free and open to the public.
Trombones at Texas State University is the 2nd album that the ensemble has recorded on the Kairoi Music label. The album was recorded and mixed by Texas State students in Evans Auditorium and the Fire Station Studio.
The trombone choir will perform pieces by Palestrina, Ewazen, Verhelst and Eric Clapton. The jazz trombone ensembles will perform works by John Coltrane and will also feature special guest, Paul Deemer, who will be the incoming jazz trombone professor at Texas State beginning fall 2014.
