In Brief: Castaneda named one of 2014 Shining Stars Under 40

Texas State University alumnus and current grant coordinator at the Center for P-16 Initiatives, Liz Castaneda, has been selected by the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce as one of San Marcos’ 2014 Shining Stars Under 40.
The purpose of San Marcos Shining Stars Under 40 is to raise awareness of young professionals in the community, and to recognize the accomplishments of men and women under 40 years of age who are making significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through their service in the San Marcos community.
Castaneda earned her master's in social work from Texas State with a concentration in administrative leadership. She has been a grant coordinator at the Center for P-16 Initiatives since 2009 where she works to close the achievement gaps throughout Central Texas.
