School of Music to host 5th annual Texas State International Piano Fest

The 5th annual Texas State International Piano Festival, to be held May 31-June 8 at Texas State University, will feature participants chosen to perform with the Round Rock Symphony, as well as performances and master classes by guest artists.
The festival will take place in the new Performing Arts Center.
The festival contains three divisions: the young artists division, for artists 11-18, the college division, for artists in college and the auditors division, which is open to the public. The show will feature selected participants in the young artists and college divisions that apply online and send in a DVD audition. There is a non-refundable $30 application fee. The deadline to apply is March 1.
Each artist that auditioned for the festival will be notified of their results by March 21. If chosen as a participant, artists will have an $850 tuition that covers performance in two private lessons and one master class, admission to all performances and master classes, two tickets for the final performance on June 7, room and board, local transportation and other amenities. The balance will be due in full by April 15.
