NAM MathFest XXII exposes undergrads to mathematical sciences

The Department of Mathematics at Texas State University will host the National Association of Mathematicians, Inc. (NAM) Undergraduate MathFest XXIII throughout Derek Hall from Nov. 7 through Nov. 9.

The conference will allow undergraduate students interested in math to learn from the experiences of graduate students and professors and enjoy a variety of entertaining lectures and presentations. Participants are also encouraged to submit math-inspired graphic designs for the chance to win the Math in the Picture contest. Complimentary meals will be served those who attend.

NAM was founded in 1969 to foster excellence in the mathematical sciences and to improve the performance of under-represented minorities in related fields. Texas State professor Nathaniel Dean serves as the association’s current president.
