Mckenna Greer, interior design student at Texas State University was part of the team that took home first place in the IIDA Student Conference Design Charette Competition. Her achievement marks a Texas State IIDA student as part of the first place winning team in the competition for the second year in a row.
Greer, a Portland, Maine native, is currently a senior majoring in interior design with an art and design minor, serves as president in the Texas State IIDA chapter and is a student worker for the University Seminar Office.
“Each year, the design charette calls upon four students from different interior design programs in the Texas/Oklahoma area to work as a team to generate and present a compelling design solution to a complex design problem in four hours,” said Caroline Hill, associate professor in the Texas State interior design program.
“The charrette was composed of students from each campus center who were then split into groups. We were then given four hours to provide a design solution for the problem administered by the local architecture firm Ziegler +Cooper,” said Greer. “Our team won first place.”
